Slovenia's Rating Upgraded by IBCA

International credit rating agency Fitch IBCA has upgraded Slovenia's credit rating. The long-term foreign-currency rating was upgraded from A- to A and the long-term local-currency rating from AA- to AA. The short-term foreign-currency rating stayed put at F1. According to Fitch IBCA, Slovenia rates highest among the countries in transition thanks to high incomes, political ripeness and long-term experience on markets acquired at the time of former Yugoslavia when Slovenia was the most export-oriented republic.
