A parliamentary election is a kind of a curiosity in a frail Russian democracy. Those in power have nothing but a painful crisis to show to the electorate. And so money was miraculously found in December to pay out pensions and a virtual Kremlin party set up rapidly with no platform, but members who are feudally loyal to their masters; last but not least, a war was started in the Caucasus in order to make rebellious Chechnya Russian again. Surprisingly, such manipulation of the public opinion bears fruit. It seems like everyone has forgotten that one never tels more lies than at war, before an election and after a hunt, Monday's Delo writes a day after Russian's election.
