Negotiations on Sava Hydro Electric Plant Broken Off

Government negotiators have come out of Wednesday's negotiations with the licensee for the building of the Sava hydro electric plant, with an opinion that their views differ so greatly to the licensee's that there is no point in continuing negotiations. They will propose to the government to cancel all negotiations with the licensee, Sava d.o.o.. This was told to STA by state secretary for energy at the ministry of economic affairs, Robert Golob, who added that it is now likely that the plant will not be constructed by the current licensee. The majority of Sava is owned by Savske elektrarne (65-percent share) and the smaller share is held by the Austrian firm Verbund Gesellschaft (35-percent share).
