NEK to Reduce Output Temporarily
Krško, 31 December - ENERGY/NEK/2000
The Krsko nuclear power plant (NEK), which started preparing for the year 2000 several years ago, assures that there will be no problems with its computers as we arrive in to the year 2000. The power plant does, however, plan to cut output for several hours. NEK will begin to gradually reduce power from 4 PM onwards, on Friday, and will thus reduce the output to 300 mW. At midnight 1 January, the plant will operate at half output and will begin to gradually return to full power after 8 AM on Saturday morning.
