Pretnar Caps Off Slovenia's 40th World Cup Win In Style

Slovene alpine skiing achieved its 40th World Cup win in Berchtesgand on Sunday. The winner, Spela Pretnar, skied herself to the two best times in both runs and thus convincingly won the slalom World Cup event, giving her the second victory of the year and her fourth overall. Her nearest rival Christel Saioni was a whole 0.92 seconds arrears, while the third placed Norwegian Trine Bakke, who currently leads in the World Cup slalom standings, trailed the Slovene by 1.05 seconds.
