Milan Kucan Denies Allegations About Receiving Presents from Elan
Ljubljana, 12 January - PARLIAMENTARY/COMMISSION/ELAN/KUCAN
The National Assembly commission investigating into the suspected misuse of state authority in the Elan reform and privatisation process on Wednesday questioned Slovene President Milan Kucan. He stressed that in the period between 1986 and 1989, when he was president of the Central Committee of the Slovene Communist Party (CK ZKS), the body did not finance any company either in Slovenia or abroad associated with Elan. He rebutted with indignation the allegations of the former Elan financial director Pavle Koder that he received various presents in the value of DM 400,000 from the company during that time.
