Over 200,000 People Visit Ljubljana Zoo in 1999

The Ljubljana zoo, which extends over an area of 19 hectares, currently keeps 150 species of animals and over 500 animals altogether. Last year the zoo saw over 200,000 visitors, the majority in the March-to-August period, with the record in May, when over 35,000 people came to the zoo. The number of visits dropped in the winter months, as only 3,000 visitors were recorded in December.
