Slovenia Gets 375 Million Euros from EIB Last Year

The European Investment Bank (EIB), the EU's lender, allocated a total of 2.4 billion euros of loans as financial assistance to EU candidate countries from Central Europe in 1999. According to the annual EIB report, the value of the loans given to Slovenia last year was exceeded only by those given to Romania. While the former got 375 million euros, the latter received 395 milllion euros.
