Slovenia Concerned over Formation of Austria's New Government

Ljubljana, 3 February - Slovenia has joined the European Union in voicing concern over growing hostile populism and a number of statements by the governor general of the Austrian province of Carinthia, Joerg Haider. Like the EU, Slovenia expects Austria's new government to act in accordance with the basic universal values. These are based on the principles of mutual respect and tolerance, and reject intolerance and xenophobia in uniting new Europe, the Foreign Ministry stated in a press release on Thursday.
