Slovenes Ambivalent Towards FDI, U.S. Ambassador Says

The level of foreign direct investment by U.S. companies in Slovenia remains low, while the Slovenes are considered ambivalent and adverse to the influx of foreign capital, U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia Nancy Ely-Raphael stated at this year's first meeting of the Slovene U.S Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. Given very successful development of Slovenia's economy and its good geopolitical position, there is no reason for such state of affairs. Slovenia is a leading economic power in the region, but will have to open up to foreign capital if it wants to develop further, Ely-Raphael said.
