Celebration of Preseren Day in Nova Gorica - Marked by Opening of Library

Nova Gorica, a town in western Slovenia, was host to the central regional ceremony to mark the Culture Day on Tuesday. The guest speaker, Minister for Culture Jozef Skolc, stressed that what we are celebrating on this historical day is the fact that in the middle of the town a library, "a place of heavy history and instantaneous happiness", is being opened. The new building of the Nova Gorica library was opened by Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek, in a cutting of the tape ceremony on Tuesday evening.
