A Former Elan Official Denies Allegations against Kucan
Ljubljana, 9 February - PARLIAMENT/INQUIRY/ELAN
The parliamentary commission investigating into suspected misuse of state authority in the privatisation of the ski factory Elan witnessed a face-to-face meeting between Slovene President Milan Kucan and the former financial director of Elan Pavel Koder on Wednesday. While Kucan insisted on his claim that he had not received any presents from Elan while presiding over the Central Committee of the Slovene Communist Party (CK ZKS) between 1986 and 1989, Koder labelled the recorded interview in which he allegedly accused Kucan of receiving presents a "manipulation that he has never authorised".
