Rupel: "Relations Between Slovenia and the U.S. on a Very High Level"

Washington, 15 February - USA/SLOVENIA/RUPEL/ALBRIGHT
Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel met with U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright at the State Department building on Tuesday. The pair discussed bilateral relations, economic co-operation and bilateral agreements. Rupel and Albright also covered the situation in Croatia and Austria, Slovenia's role with SE European democratisation and the NATO alliance. The Slovene Foreign Minister assessed the relations between the two countries as being very good and announced that he will use all his powers to ensure that they stay that way. In the one hour conversation, Albright also positively reacted to an invitation to visit Bled.
