13 Percent Unemployment Rate Recorded in December

In December 1999 there were 880,521 persons making up the working population of Slovenia. From this number 766,173 were actively employed, which represents a 0.5 percent drop over a month before, but a 3.3 percent increase over the figure a year before, reported the Slovene Statistical Office. The rate of unemployment thus stood at 13 percent for December, which is unchanged in comparison to the month before.
