Representatives From Political Parties To Collaborate in Preparations of Electorate Regions

Ljubljana, 17 February - PARLIAMENT/COMMISSION/ELECTION/SYSTEM
The parliamentary commission for the election system and constitutional changes recommended, during discussions on the Social Democratic Party's (SDS) proposal for a two round majority election system, that the SDS amends the wording of this legislation proposal with one which incorporates electoral regions. The electoral regions would be prepared by a working group, which would be formed of experts that would be put forward by each party, while the remaining candidates would be named after considering proposal from the National Commission for Elections, the Government Office for Local Self-Government, the geography section of the Ljubljana University and the institute for geography.
