Slovene and Italian Ports Make First Step towards Merger

Koper, 17 February - SLOVENIA/ITALY/PORTS
The CEOs of the ports of Koper and Trieste signed a letter of intent in Koper on Thursday in a first move towards the merger between the Slovene and the Italian port. This is the first case of such co-operation between ports from different states as well as the first attempt to unite a port in a EU member state with a port in a country that is only becoming a member.
