Speaking in French, the Pope had expressed a great deal of warmth and praise for Slovenia, the Prime Minister said afterwards. Drnovšek renewed his invitation to his Holiness to visit Slovenia. According to the Prime Minister, Pope John Paul II wishes to visit the country, but is thinking in broader terms - namely, of doing so as part of a wider peace mission to countries bound up in the war.
