WEU and NATO Exercise: Slovenia Actively Assists in 'Kiloland Crisis'

Slovenia has actively taken part in the carrying out of the first Western European Union (WEU) and NATO crisis management exercise, which is taking place in Brussels. The CMX/CRISEX 2000 exercise, which is led by WEU and supported by NATO, involves the resolution of a crisis situation in the fictitious island country of Kiloland. Following WEU's decision to send a 30,000 member unit to solve the ethnic unrest, the Slovene representatives said on Monday that they were one of the first countries to react and offered to send a 700 member unit.
