The Number of the Unemployed Increases in January

Ljubljana, 25 February - The number of registered job seekers stood at 116,243 at the end of January, which is a 1.7-percent increase from December 1999, but 7.8 percent below the January 1999 figure. In January, 5,077 unemployed found jobs, up 14.4 percent from December, but down 28.9 percent from a year earlier, the Slovene Employment Institute reported.
