Prime Minister Drnovsek Begins Cyprus Visit

Nicosia, 27 February - SLOVENIA/CYPRUS/DRNOVSEK
Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek, who is accompanied by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, began a two-day official visit, his first, to Cyprus. Drnovsek was received by Cypriot President Glafkos Clerides. The pair discussed political contacts between the two countries which are well developed, but mainly held on a ministerial level. They also examined the possibility for strengthening of economic ties between the two countries, co-operation in the framework of the EU integration and other international issues.
