Long-Term Armed Forces Development Programme Backed in Parliament
Ljubljana, 29 February - ARMED/FORCES/PARLIAMENT
The long-term armed forces development Programme was given a green light in parliament on Tuesday. The programme envisages that in the next 10 years the number of professional soldiers would increase from 4,200 to 7,700, while the total number of Slovene Armed Forces would be radically reduced from around 70,000 to 47,000 troops. In addition, other areas which need upgrading are defined in the programme.
