The Bank of Slovenia Records Euro 9 Million Surplus of Revenue over Expenditure
Ljubljana, 1 March - The Council of the Bank of Slovenia (BS) discussed the report on the use of contemporary systems of payments and approved unaudited accounting records of the central bank for 1999. The surplus of revenue over expenditure was SIT 1.795 billion (9 million euros), of which SIT 1.555 billion (7.8 million euros) was put on special reserves intended for business risks, and SIT 240 million (1.2 million euros) was intended for the state budget to cover obligations arising from Slovenia's membership in the International Monetary Fund. Positive net exchange rates' differences amounting to SIT 38.4 billion (192 million euros) will be transferred to a special reserves' account for exchange rates differences.
