Increasing Interest in Foreign Securities

Slovene investors are increasingly interested in buying foreign securities; residents held foreign securities in the value of SIT 20.5 billion (euro 102.5 million) at the end of last December. The investments into foreign shares totalled SIT 1.2 billion (euro 6 million), but were mostly not linked to the liberalisation of the capital market which was effected last September. The investment in foreign bonds amounted to SIT 19.3 billion (euro 96.5 million) in the same period, with all of bonds belonging to Slovene banks.
