Alpina Ends 1999 with a Profit

A shoe manufacturer Alpina from Ziri, northeastern Slovenia, produced more than 1.6 million pairs of footwear in 1999 and generated a turnover of SIT 7.4 billion (37 million euros), up seven percent from 1998. After suffering losses amounting to SIT 235 million (1.2 million euros) in 1998, Alpina consolidated and marked a gross profit of SIT 82.3 million (411,500 euros).
