Lek Profit at SIT 3.12 Billion

Slovene pharmaceutical company Lek has managed to finish 1999 above expectations, despite tough conditions in key markets. Audited and non-consolidated company statements suggest that turnover reached SIT 46.5 billion (euro 233 million), which is a slight increase over 1998. Net profit reached SIT 3.12 billion (euro 16 million), which represents a 12 percent decrease on 1998, but a 27 percent increase on the forecast. In the year 2000 Lek plans to turnover SIT 52 million which represents a 12 percent increase on 1999.
