Ptuj, 4 March - SHROVEIDE/FESTVITIES
This year's shorovetide festivities in Ptuj, eastern Slovenia, which started last Saturday will reach their peak on Sunday with a long shrovetide procession. Over 2,000 different customs are to take part, and up to 40,000 visitors from Slovenia and abroad are expected to attend the 40th annual carnival.
