EU Veterinary Inspection to Visit Slovenia Again

Ljubljana, 5 March - SLOVENIA/EU/INSPECTION
Slovenia will be visited by another EU veterinary inspection, which will carry out an inspection on the supervision over harmful leftovers of medicaments, pesticides, hormones and heavy metals in food made from animal products. Director of the Veterinary Administration of Slovenia Zoran Kovac, explained that in this field "there are no major problem", the greatest problem which does exist however, is that Slovene laboratories are not accredited and do not operate on EU standards, even though all procedures are moving in that direction. "This could prove to be a problem, but not one which would call for restrictive measures," said Kovac.
