Slovene Economy Review From 26 February Through 3 March

Ljubljana, 5 March - REVIEW/ECONOMIC/WEEK
The fate of the Begunje-based sporting goods-manufacturer Elan seems to be almost resolved. At the end of the week, discussions on the debts of the once proud Slovene icon successfully came to a conclusion. Namely, Privredna banka Zagreb and the Croatian agency for the rehabilitation of banks, passed a decision on the sale of debts and the ownership of capital (77.25 percent share) of Elan to the Slovene Development Corporation (SRD) was reported from Zagreb. Elan was also witness to changes in management during the week. Also on a positive note was the meeting of the Slovene and Croatian economics ministers, who discussed the resolution of Krsko Nuclear Plant's (NEK) status.
