A Slovene MP Appeals to European Commission President
Ljubljana, 6 March - Legislator Roman Jakic has appealed to European Commission President Roman Prodi for the Commission to pass its opinion on Slovenia's status in the issue of succession to former Yugoslavia. In his letter to Prodi the Slovene legislator wonders why Slovenia's efforts pertaining to the issue of succession have not been supported by the EU member states in view of Slovenia's future membership in the Union. Jakic wants to know whether the European Commission will act in line with the position taken by the EU and adopt a stand different from those of individual member states regarding the issue.
