D&B: Slovenia Stays At the Top, Economy Stable

Ljubljana, 7 March - SLOVENIA/D&B
The Dun&Bradstreet Agency places Slovenia, along with Hungary, at the top of the economic table for transition countries. The Slovene economy remained stable, and D&B experts paid much attention to the demands for higher wages made by doctors and education ministers. If real wages increase beyond the 2.5 percent estimate, inflation will be fueled, and this would dampen the positive outlook for the export sector which is driven by a renewed growth in Western Europe. The agency also states that situation could be made worse if the government bows down to current pressure from oil companies for price increases of oil.
