Podobnik Discusses the Issue of Bears in Southern Slovenia

Deputy Prime Minister Marjan Podobnik on Tuesday presented government's proposals to solve the problems caused by bears living in the Kocevje and the Bela Krajina region in southern Slovenia. The government proposed to ensure annuities to people living in the bear-populated areas, Podobnik explained, adding that the most important proposal to decrease the number of bears was to catch them and hand them over to zoos or states where the bears had almost become extinct.
