The record sentences handed out to the truck drivers charged with transporting drugs, which were handed down on Wednesday at the Kranj district court, probably surprised lawyers and the charged, as well as all those working with the criminal law. The fifteen year prison sentences handed out to the two most responsible culprits in the cartel is for many a steep sentence, but in other countries such as those in Asia, Australia and the USA the sentence would be much higher, writes Vecer in its Thursday release.
