Arhar: Slovenia Must Persevere with the Policy of Stability to Join Euroland
Ljubljana, 16 March - Governor of the Bank of Slovenia France Arhar on Thursday warned of scant economising, and stressed the need to cut expenses, curb growth in salaries, reorganise the administration and increase economic growth to at least five to six percent annual rate as the only way to bridge the gap between Slovenia and EU member states. Slovenia should persevere with the policy of stability and attempt to cut long-term interest rates. "Those cannot be prescribed, they are based on trust," Arhar said addressing the participants of a round table on the euro.
