Hannawald Winner in Planica

Germany's Sven Hannawald won the final event of the Ski Jumping World Cup, namely the ski flights held at the giant hill in Planica. Hannawald finished with 402.3 points following a second jump of 212.5 metres. Finland's Janne Ahonen was second with a second round jump of 211 metres, which gave him a total of 402.3 points, while Austria's Andreas Goldberger, leader from the first series of jumps, came in third with a second round jump of 200 metres and a total point count of 401.1. The only Slovene competitor in the second round, Damjan Fras, jumped 93 metres and finished 30th with 213.9 points. The overall victory in the World Cup went to Martin Schmitt from Germany.
