Croatian President Holds Talks with Slovene Leadership
Ljubljana, 20 March - SLOVENIA/CROATIA/MESIC
After arriving in Slovenia on Sunday, Croatian President Stipe Mesic was received with full state honours in Ljubljana on Monday morning. Mesic has already started talks with his Slovene counterpart Milan Kucan, and is scheduled to meet Speaker of the Parliament Janez Podobnik and a delegation of parliamentary parties later in the day. A meeting with Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek will also take place in what is Mesic's first official visit abroad after he was sworn in as head of the Croatian state on 18 February.
