Cinkarna Celje Records Profit in 1999

Cinkarna Celje, a zinc processing plant located in eastern Slovenia finished last year with SIT 802 million (3.98 million euro) in profit, a 100 percent increase over 1998. The plant also managed to reduce sulphur dioxide emissions below 100 kilograms per hour. Investment is currently being channeled in to the reduction of dust emissions from the ore grinding which, at the moment, exceeds standards.
