Slovene Agriculture To Benefit From the EU Only With the Right to Compensations
Brussels, 24 March - The Slovene agriculture would economically benefit from EU membership only if Slovenia is included immediately upon its entrance into the EU to the system of subsidies paid directly to farmers. This was said by Slovene Agriculture Ministry State Secretary Franc But in Brussels on Friday, where he briefed agricultural advisers from EU member states on the results of several studies into economic effects of Slovenia's EU membership on its agriculture.
