Vecer: The Work of Courts is More Efficient, Says Marusic

The work of Slovene courts has been more efficient recently, particularly at the courts of first instance, said Slovene Minister of Justice Tomaz Marusic in an interview for the Saturday issue of the Slovene evening paper Vecer. Marusic's assessment was based on unofficial statistical data for 1999, which say that the number of solved issues at courts of first instance increased from three to eleven percent. However, backlogs in cases concerning wildcat privatisation remain unchanged, Marusic said.
