National Assembly Adopts Law on Local Self-Administration
Ljubljana, 21 December - In the continuation of the session which began this morning, the National Assembly finally adopted the Law on Local Self-Administration by 42 votes to 19. Before the vote on the motion containing the entire law took place, representatives of the Slovenian People's Party (SLS), the Slovenian Christian Democrats (SKD), the Independent Group of Deputies (SPS), and the Social Democratic Party of Slovenia (SDSS), announced that they would vote against the law or that they would not take part in the vote, since, according to them, the vote on this law was against the Constitution, and that the law would slow down the process of local self-administration.
