EU-Slovenia Parliamentary Committee to Meet in Brussels

Ljubljana, 26 March - The joint parliamentary committee of Slovenia and the European Union will hold its fourth session in Brussels on Monday and Tuesday to evaluate Slovenia's preparations for EU membership. Slovene and European legislators are expected to focus on the privatisation and restructuring of state-owned companies, foreign investment and the position of ethnic minorities in Slovenia and Slovene minorities in the neighbour states. On the margin of the session European Affairs Minister Igor Bavcar will meet European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen, who is scheduled to arrive in Slovenia for a two-day visit on 16 April.
