Rise in Illegal Migrants Recorded Last Year
Ljubljana, 4 April - STATISTICS/ILLEGAL/MIGRATIONS
The number of foreign nationals who failed to produce the required documents on entering Slovenia increased by 2.8 percent in 1999 from a year earlier, police data show. A total 39,740 persons, mostly from Croatia, Romania, Macedonia, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Turkey and Russia, were thus refused entry last year.
