Peterle: The New United Party Will Win This Year's Elections
Ljubljana, 12 April - SKD/PETERLE/INTERVIEW
The leader of the opposition Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD), Lojze Peterle is convinced that the party which will emerge from the unification of the SKD with the Slovene People's Party (SLS) will win this year's general elections. Peterle spoke to the STA prior to the SKD-SLS merger congress which is scheduled to take place on Saturday. Even if the two parties have not yet reached an agreement on how to name the new party and who would be its new leader, Peterle expects the merger congress to be carried out "normally", thus bringing an eight-year unification process successfully to an end.
