Podobnik: No Obstacles for SLS-SKD Unification
Ljubljana, 12 April - SLS/PODOBNIK/INTERVIEW
There are no obstacles for the unification of the Slovene People's Party (SLS) and the Christian Democrats (SKD). This is despite the existence of some unsolved issues between the parties, such as the names of the president and the new party, expressed SLS President and outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Marjan Podobnik in an interview for the STA ahead of Saturday's congress at which the two parties are to merge. Podobnik is convinced that the unified party would mark the next period in Slovene politics, as it is expected to become the driving force behind the future Slovene government irrespective of the voting system that will be employed at the next elections.
