Government Revises the Programme for the Adoption of the Acquis

The government, which has only dealt with the day-to-day business since Saturday's non-confidence vote, at Thursday's session adopted changes to the national programme for the adoption of the EU acquis by the end of 2002, which is to be submitted to the European Commission by the end of April. As the outgoing Minister of European Affairs Igor Bavcar said after the session, the revision mainly concerned Slovenia's ability to assume the obligations of EU membership, as the administrative capacity to implement the acquis was additionally defined and non-governmental organisations were introduced into the programme.
