M. Podobnik Backs Franc Zagozen for Leader of Merged Party

During his opening speech, Slovene People's Party (SLS) President Marjan Podobnik indicated his support for Franc Zagozen, an influential SLS member, for filling the role of the president of the new merged party to be formed between the SLS and the Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD). The congress, which began earlier in the day, is being attended by 226 delegates and is essentially a preparation for Saturday's merger congress between the SLS and the SKD.
