First Assessments See 1999 GDP Growth at 4.9 Percent

First annual assessments of economic growth in Slovenia for 1999 shows that gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 4.9 percent during the year, was reported from the National Statistical Office. The data has surprised some statisticians, as did the calculation based on quarterly results which was carried out in March and also indicated a 4.9 percent growth in GDP during last year, explained government advisor from the sector for national accounts Andrej Flajs.
