Backlog at Courts Keeps Falling

Statistical data for the period from 1991 to 1999 show that performance of the Slovene courts' has gradually improved. "The government is in a crisis, the parliament faces dissolution, only the judiciary is still functioning," Supreme Court President Mitja Deisinger somehow jokingly illustrated the performance of the Slovene judiciary. Despite the burdens of the judicial reform, the performance of Slovene courts does not lag behind the European average, he said on Tuesday.
