Drnovsek Says He Is Receiving Calls from Prodi and Solana after Gov't Crisis

Provided that the voting on the new prime minister-designate fails, the mandate of the outgoing prime minister may be extended as there is a procedural possibility for that, Janez Drnovsek said in an interview published on Wednesday. Drnovsek believes that there will be such initiatives, especially after many have realized the seriousness of the situation. "There are great expectations, at home and abroad." Drnovsek said that he was receiving calls from Romano Prodi and Javier Solana and that they would even come to Ljubljana to discuss the issue if that was necessary.
