Majority Electoral System Fails to Gain Required Parliamentary Support

Ljubljana, 25 April - PARLIAMENT/ELECTORAL/BILL
Parliament failed to approve the bill on a two-round majority voting system on Tuesday. Among the 79 legislators present, 45 voted in favour while 20 were against the adoption of the bill. For the bill to be adopted a two-third majority, or at least 60 votes would have to be secured. After failing to secure approval in first reading the bill has thus been defeated.
