Bavcar: EU Accession Cannot Be Easily Disturbed by Short-Term Political Problems

Ljubljana, 9 May - Slovenia is firmly anchored among the first-round EU accession candidates and will carry out all necessary tasks for EU membership by the end of 2002. Despite occasional problems the process of Slovenia's accession has gained momentum, which cannot be easily disturbed by minor critical periods, outgoing Minister for European Affairs Igor Bavcar told the press on Tuesday.
